Ronda Rousey to Trademark DNB, Upsets EDM Community
Who knew our two loves, MMA and EDM would come together, well sorta
UFC undefeated bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey is making waves for a few things this week and not for the best reason. Rousey made waves with her “Do Nothing Bitch” catchphrase that spead like wildfire over social media. The shortened version, “DNB”created a lot of backlash from the Electronic Dance Music community when it was heard she is trying to trademark it.

This isn’t the first time Rousey’s company Rowdy Ronda Inc. has filed for trademarks. Other examples are the terms “Armbarnation” and “Rowdy Ronda Rousey.” However, some in the EDM community feels the #DNB could cause confusion, however themusicessentials.com says “Rousey’s trademark probably won’t interfere with the acronym designating drum n bass. If anything, the rampant use of #DNB on merchandise and social media might dilute Rousey’s trademark, invalidating it.”
